El rosa no existe

El rosa no existe. Envía esto a alguien que está a punto de discutir contigo. Mira un arcoíris, o divide la luz con un trozo de vidrio. Verás rojo, naranja, amarillo, verde, azul y morado, en una línea ordenada. Ninguna parte de esa línea es rosa.

Pink does not exist. Send this to someone who is about to argue with you. Look at a rainbow, or split light with a piece of glass. You will see red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple, in a neat line. Not one part of that line is pink.

La luz en sí no produce rosa. A veces tus ojos captan luz roja intensa y luz azul intensa al mismo tiempo, con un poco de luz verde mezclada. Tu cerebro no tiene un color normal preparado para esa mezcla. Así que, en vez de dejar un hueco, tu cerebro simplemente inventa un color completamente nuevo.

Light itself does not make pink. Sometimes your eyes catch strong red light and strong blue light at the same time, with little green light mixed in. Your brain does not have a normal color ready for that mix. So instead of leaving a gap, your brain simply makes up a brand new color.

Ese nuevo color es el rosa. Solo existe dentro de tu cabeza, no ahí afuera en el mundo. Fuera, en la luz real, el rosa no se encuentra por ningún lado. Pero cuando lo ves, sigue pareciéndote completamente real, cada vez.

That new color is pink. It only lives inside your head, not out in the world. Outside, in real light, pink is nowhere to be found. But when you see it, it still looks completely real to you, every single time.
