粉色并不存在

粉色并不存在。把这条发给那个马上要跟你争的人。看看彩虹,或者用一块玻璃把光分开。你会看到红、橙、黄、绿、蓝、紫,排成整齐的一条。这条线上没有一处是粉色。

Pink does not exist. Send this to someone who is about to argue with you. Look at a rainbow, or split light with a piece of glass. You will see red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple, in a neat line. Not one part of that line is pink.

光本身做不出粉色。有时候你的眼睛同时接到很强的红光和很强的蓝光,中间的绿光很少。你的大脑没有现成的颜色可以配这种组合。所以它不留空白,而是干脆造出一种全新的颜色。

Light itself does not make pink. Sometimes your eyes catch strong red light and strong blue light at the same time, with little green light mixed in. Your brain does not have a normal color ready for that mix. So instead of leaving a gap, your brain simply makes up a brand new color.

那种新颜色就是粉色。它只活在你的脑子里,不在外面的世界里。外面的真实光线里,哪儿都找不到粉色。可是当你看到它的时候,它每一次都还是显得完全真实。

That new color is pink. It only lives inside your head, not out in the world. Outside, in real light, pink is nowhere to be found. But when you see it, it still looks completely real to you, every single time.
