Das ist kein Fehler. Im Chinesischen, Japanischen und Koreanischen klingt das Wort für vier fast genauso wie das Wort für Tod. Viele Menschen meiden die Zahl genauso, wie manche Gebäude im Westen ein dreizehntes Stockwerk auslassen. Also lassen Baumeister sie ganz weg oder schreiben stattdessen drei A.
Schau dir genug Aufzüge in Peking, Tokio oder Seoul an, und du wirst immer wieder dieselbe Lücke bemerken: kein Stockwerk vier, kein Stockwerk vierzehn, kein Stockwerk vierundzwanzig. Eine ganze Zahl, aus dem täglichen Leben entfernt.
