راقبت باستا من زاويتها.
أرسلت باستا ذراعين نحو المتاهة. لم يتحرك جسمها. الذراعان ذهبتا في اتجاهين مختلفين. واحدة ذهبت إلى الأعلى. والأخرى دخلت إلى الداخل.
الأخطبوط لديه الكثير من الخلايا العصبية. ثلثاها في الأذرع، وليس في الرأس. كل ذراع لديه جهازه العصبي الخاص. كل ذراع يمكنه حل مشكلة.
الذراع الأولى مرت عبر المتاهة. انعطفت عند الزوايا. الذراع الثانية وجدت بوابة صغيرة. الذراع الأولى دفعت من الداخل. الذراع الثانية دفعت من الخارج. فُتحت البوابة.
أخذت الذراع لحم السلطعون.
لم تحرك باستا جسمها.
شاهدت كيّارا الفيديو الخاص بها. "الأذرع حصلت على الطعام،" قالت. "هل حل الأخطبوط المتاهة، أم أن الأذرع هي التي حلتها؟ لا نعرف."
نظرت بولي إلى باستا. سحب الأخطبوط لحم السلطعون إلى منقاره.
