Galina versò del tè per Polly. Era color ambra. Una fetta di limone galleggiava sopra. Il samovar era caldo da dodici ore.
Polly bevve un sorso. Era caldo e dolce.
"La parte più lunga di questo viaggio sono gli alberi," disse Galina. "Ti siedi su un treno per sei giorni e guardi gli alberi. Non finiscono mai."

Polly bevve di nuovo. Pavel digitava. Galina leggeva il suo libro. Fuori, le betulle continuavano a passare.
