Cascada care curge în sus

Uită-te bine la această cascadă. Apa nu cade în jos. Este suflată în sus, înapoi spre cer, ca un filmuleț rulat invers.

Look closely at this waterfall. The water is not falling down. It is blowing up, back into the sky, like a video playing backward.

Priveliștea aceasta ciudată apare în zilele cu vânt puternic, la cascadele înalte din Norvegia. Vântul împinge cu putere în apa care cade. Cele mai mici picături sunt destul de ușoare cât să fie prinse de vânt. În loc să cadă la pământ, zboară înapoi în aer.

This strange sight happens on very windy days at tall waterfalls in Norway. Strong wind pushes hard against the falling water. The smallest drops are light enough for the wind to catch. Instead of dropping to the ground, they fly back up into the air.

Picăturile mari sunt prea grele pentru asta. Doar stropii mici și ușori se întorc. Stai aici într-o zi cu vânt și s-ar putea să vezi cum o cascadă întreagă pare că se răzgândește.

Big drops of water are too heavy for this. Only the tiny, light spray turns around. Stand here on a windy day, and you might watch an entire waterfall seem to change its mind.
