Alas tres ng madaling araw, at mas gising pa ang kalye kaysa sa tanghaling tapat. Sunod-sunod ang mga trak na humihinto, puno ng sako ng marigold, rosas, at orkidyas na galing mismo sa probinsiya. Mabilis kumilos ang mga manggagawa, sinasalansan ang mga bulaklak sa mga toreng mas mataas pa sa tao, at nagsisigawan ng presyo sa gitna ng ingay.
Ito ang Pak Khlong Talat, ang pinakamalaking palengke ng bulaklak sa Bangkok, at halos hindi ito nagsasara. Kapag araw, mukha itong inaantok, iilang puwesto lang at tahimik na sulok. Pero pagkalubog ng araw, dumarating ang mga florist mula sa buong lungsod para bumili ng sariwang stock bago mag-umaga, at napupuno ang palengke ng kulay at ingay hanggang sumikat ang araw.
