Một miệng núi lửa, hai màu nước

Polly nhìn xuống một miệng núi lửa rất lớn. Nó rất cổ và rất rộng. Bên trong có hai hồ nước. Một dải đất vắt ngang giữa. Một hồ màu xanh lam. Hồ kia màu xanh lục.

Polly looked down into a huge crater. It was very old and very big. It held two lakes. A strip of land crossed the middle. One lake was blue. The other lake was green.

Hai hồ nối với nhau ở dưới dải đất. Nhưng chúng trông khác nhau. Hồ xanh lam thì sâu và soi bóng bầu trời. Hồ xanh lục ở gần cây cối, nên nó có màu lục.

The two lakes are joined under the land. But they look different. The blue lake is deep and shows the sky. The green lake is near plants, so it looks green.

Polly bay thấp trên dải đất. Cô thấy thuyền ở một bên. Cô thấy bò ở bên kia. Sương mù kéo đến và phủ kín hai hồ.

Polly flew low over the strip of land. She saw boats on one side. She saw cows on the other side. Fog came in and covered the lakes.

Cô đợi trên một bức tường cũ. Sương tan đi. Cả hai hồ vẫn ở đó, lam và lục.

She waited on an old wall. The fog went away. Both lakes were still there, blue and green.
