La planta da pequeños frutos que se llaman cerezas. Las cerezas empiezan verdes y poco a poco se vuelven rojas y brillantes. Dentro de cada cereza roja hay dos pequeñas semillas. La gente recoge a mano las cerezas maduras y saca las semillas, que llamamos granos de café.
Luego, los granos verdes se secan al sol durante muchos días. Después la gente los tuesta con calor hasta que se ponen de color café oscuro y huelen maravilloso. Por último, alguien muele los granos y agrega agua caliente. Después de un largo viaje desde la granja, el café está listo para tomar.
