Jeder Topf hatte Fleisch und Gemüse darin. Die Erde darunter ist heiß vom Vulkan. Es gibt kein Feuer. Nur die Hitze der Erde kocht das Essen.
Die Töpfe bleiben sechs oder sieben Stunden in der Erde. Die Leute machen einen Spaziergang, während sie warten. Dann kommen sie zum Abendessen zurück.
Dampf kam heraus, als der erste Topf sich öffnete. Es roch sehr gut. Polly sah zu, wie der Koch ihn glücklich forttrug.
