Se detuvo en un puesto con largas colas. Una mujer cocinaba empanadillas en una sartén grande y plana. Mara observó a los otros clientes. Señalaban el menú, decían un número y pagaban. Cuando llegó su turno, ella también señaló. "Cinco, por favor", dijo. La mujer asintió y sonrió.
Las empanadillas estaban calientes y crujientes por abajo. Mara se sentó en una pequeña silla de plástico y se las comió despacio. Luego caminó al siguiente puesto, y al siguiente. Esa noche aprendió la regla más importante de la comida callejera: una cola larga significa buena comida.
