Krčma v Kirkwalle mala päť stolov a oheň. Polly si sadla blízko k teplu. "Môžem vidieť jedálny lístok?" spýtala sa. Na karte bolo len pár jedál.

The bar in Kirkwall had five tables and a fire. Polly sat near the heat. "Can I see the menu?" she asked. There were only a few things on the card.

"Mohli by ste mi odporučiť dobré jedlo?" Majiteľkou bola volavka. Povedala bannock. Bere je jačmeň, ktorý tu pestujú stovky rokov. Rastie rýchlo, počas krátkeho leta.

"Could you recommend a good dish?" The owner was a heron. She said the bannock. Bere is a barley grown here for hundreds of years. It grows fast, in a short summer.

"Máte vegetariánske jedlá?" spýtala sa Polly. Volavka ukázala na ten istý riadok. Bannock, maslo a mäkký syr.

"Do you have vegetarian options?" Polly asked. The heron pointed at the same line. Bannock, butter and soft cheese.

"Môžeme dostať účet, prosím?" povedala Polly. Volavka si dala načas, čo je dobré znamenie. Vonku bol vietor takmer tichý. Polly vyšla hore k červenej katedrále.

"Can we get the bill, please?" Polly said. The heron took her time, which is a good sign. Outside, the wind was almost calm. Polly walked up to the red cathedral.
