Cangkir kosong

Ini hari pertama Pedro. Dia mendapat meja. Dia mendapat laptop. Semua orang pergi ke rapat.

It is Pedro's first day. He gets a desk. He gets a laptop. Everyone goes to a meeting.

Mejanya bersih. Ada satu cangkir putih. Dia berpikir: mungkin ini hadiah. Dia haus.

The desk is clean. There is one white cup. He thinks: maybe it is a gift. He is thirsty.

Pedro pergi ke dapur. Dia mengisi cangkir itu dengan air. Dia duduk. Seorang pria berjanggut berdiri di pintu.

Pedro goes to the kitchen. He fills the cup with water. He sits down. A bearded man stands at the door.

"Ini dulu meja saya," katanya. Dia tersenyum. "Saya Diego. Selamat datang."

"This was my desk before," he says. He smiles. "I am Diego. Welcome."

Wajah Pedro memerah. Dia mengembalikan cangkir itu. Diego tertawa. "Simpan saja," katanya. "Tapi tanyakan soal mesin kopi."

Pedro's face turns red. He gives the cup back. Diego laughs. "Keep it," he says. "But ask about the coffee machine."

Nanti, Diego menunjukkan mesin kopi itu. Mesin itu perlu sepuluh menit.

Later, Diego shows him the coffee machine. It takes ten minutes.
