Dieser Flug dauert neunzig Sekunden. Markiere jemanden, der Angst vorm Fliegen hat. Ganz im Norden Schottlands liegen kleine grüne Inseln in einem grauen Meer. Zwei davon heißen Westray und Papa Westray. Dazwischen fliegt ein sehr kleines Flugzeug.
Das Flugzeug ist winzig. Es nimmt weniger als zehn Leute mit. Vorne gibt es keine Wand, also sehen die Passagiere dem Piloten bei der Arbeit zu. Die Landebahn ist kurz. Sie besteht aus Gras, Schotter und einem Windsack, und auf der Wiese daneben stehen Schafe. Das Flugzeug steigt, dreht ein wenig und geht wieder herunter. Die ganze Strecke ist keine drei Kilometer lang.
Im Flugplan stehen anderthalb Minuten. Meistens geht es schneller. Der schnellste Flug dauerte dreiundfünfzig Sekunden, also kürzer als diese Geschichte. Die Leute auf den Inseln finden das nicht besonders. Für sie ist es einfach der Bus zur nächsten Insel. Für alle anderen ist es der kürzeste Linienflug der Welt.
