The Room With a Balcony

Marcos arrives at the hotel late at night. He is tired. He puts down his suitcase. A woman sits at the desk.

Marcos komt laat op de avond aan bij het hotel. Hij is moe. Hij zet zijn koffer neer. Een vrouw zit aan de balie.

"I have a reservation," he says. "My name is Marcos Soto." The woman types. Her face changes.

"Ik heb een reservering," zegt hij. "Mijn naam is Marcos Soto." De vrouw typt. Haar gezicht verandert.

"I am sorry. Your room is not ready. But we have one room with a balcony." She gives him the key.

"Het spijt me. Uw kamer is nog niet klaar. Maar we hebben een kamer met een balkon." Ze geeft hem de sleutel.

The elevator is old. It makes noise. Marcos opens the door. He sees the city: roofs, lights, and a fountain.

De lift is oud. Hij maakt lawaai. Marcos opent de deur. Hij ziet de stad: daken, lichten en een fontein.

He goes onto the balcony. The wind is cold. Two people stand by the fountain. Marcos watches them.

Hij gaat naar het balkon. De wind is koud. Twee mensen staan bij de fontein. Marcos kijkt naar hen.
