The Chair by the Fire

The guesthouse stood above the harbour. Its door was on the sheltered side. A sheep kept the house. Polly stood in the hall, wet from the rain. "Do you have any available rooms?"

गेस्टहाउस बंदरगाह के ऊपर था। उसका दरवाज़ा हवा से बची तरफ़ था। घर एक भेड़ चलाती थी। पॉली बारिश में भीगी हुई बरामदे में खड़ी थी। "क्या आपके पास कोई कमरा ख़ाली है?"

There were rooms. Polly said, "I would like a quiet room, please." The sheep waited a moment. The wind finds every room here.

कमरे ख़ाली थे। पॉली ने कहा, "मुझे एक शांत कमरा चाहिए, कृपया।" भेड़ एक पल रुकी। यहाँ हवा हर कमरे तक पहुँच जाती है।

"Could you assist me with my luggage, please?" The sheep carried the bag up. She put it by a chair. Its frame was driftwood, because no tree grows here. Its back was straw.

"क्या आप कृपया मेरा सामान उठाने में मेरी मदद करेंगे?" भेड़ बैग ऊपर ले गई। उसने उसे एक कुर्सी के पास रखा। कुर्सी का ढाँचा बहकर आई लकड़ी का था, क्योंकि यहाँ कोई पेड़ नहीं उगता। उसकी पीठ पुआल की थी।

"What time is check-out?" Polly asked. The boat decides everything here. Then she sat in the chair. The straw stopped the cold air.

"चेक आउट का समय क्या है?" पॉली ने पूछा। यहाँ सब कुछ नाव तय करती है। फिर वह कुर्सी पर बैठ गई। पुआल ने ठंडी हवा रोक दी।
