الكرسي بجانب المدفأة

وقف بيت الضيافة فوق الميناء. كان بابه في الجهة المحمية من الريح. تدير البيت نعجة. وقفت بولي في الردهة مبللة من المطر. "هل لديكم غرف متاحة؟"

The guesthouse stood above the harbour. Its door was on the sheltered side. A sheep kept the house. Polly stood in the hall, wet from the rain. "Do you have any available rooms?"

كانت هناك غرف. قالت بولي: "أريد غرفة هادئة من فضلك." انتظرت النعجة لحظة. تجد الريح كل غرفة هنا.

There were rooms. Polly said, "I would like a quiet room, please." The sheep waited a moment. The wind finds every room here.

"هل يمكنك مساعدتي في حمل أمتعتي من فضلك؟" حملت النعجة الحقيبة. وضعتها بجانب كرسي. هيكله من خشب جرفه البحر، لأن لا شجر ينمو هنا. وظهره من قش.

"Could you assist me with my luggage, please?" The sheep carried the bag up. She put it by a chair. Its frame was driftwood, because no tree grows here. Its back was straw.

"في أي ساعة يجب أن نغادر الغرفة؟" سألت بولي. القارب يقرر كل شيء هنا. ثم جلست في الكرسي. أوقف القش الهواء البارد.

"What time is check-out?" Polly asked. The boat decides everything here. Then she sat in the chair. The straw stopped the cold air.
