Sofía estaba segura de que el museo quedaba a tres calles. Según su mapa, solo tenía que girar a la izquierda. Pero las calles de Lisboa no se comportaban como las calles de otras ciudades. Subían. Giraban. Terminaban sin avisar.
Después de veinte minutos, se paró en una pequeña plaza que nunca había visto en ningún mapa. Un gato dormía en una silla. Una señora mayor tendía la ropa desde un balcón.
—Disculpe —llamó Sofía hacia arriba—. ¿Sabe cómo llegar al museo? —La señora frunció el ceño y desapareció dentro. Sofía pensó que había sido grosera. Pero un minuto después, la señora salió por la puerta del edificio, despacio, con un papel en la mano.
Había dibujado un pequeño mapa a mano. Tres calles, dos esquinas, una fuente. —No confíe en el teléfono aquí —dijo en un inglés cuidadoso—. El teléfono se confunde en este barrio.
Sofía le dio las gracias. No encontró el museo aquella tarde. Guardó el mapa de papel durante el resto del viaje.
