迷失在里斯本

索菲娅确信博物馆就在三条街之外。根据她的地图，她只需要左转。但里斯本的街道不像其他城市的街道那样规矩。它们攀升，蜿蜒，突然就没了尽头。

Sofía was sure the museum was three streets away. According to her map, all she had to do was turn left. But Lisbon's streets did not behave like streets in other cities. They climbed. They twisted. They ended without warning.

二十分钟后，她停在一个从未在地图上见过的小广场上。一只猫在椅子上睡着了。一位老妇人在阳台上晾衣服。

After twenty minutes, she stopped on a small square she had never seen on any map. A cat was asleep on a chair. An old woman was hanging clothes from a balcony.

“打扰一下，”索菲娅抬头喊道，“您知道去博物馆的路吗？”老妇人皱了皱眉，转身进了屋。索菲娅觉得她有些无礼。但一分钟后，老妇人慢慢地从大楼的前门出来，手里拿着一张纸。

"Excuse me," Sofía called up. "Do you know the way to the museum?" The old woman frowned and disappeared inside. Sofía thought she had been rude. But a minute later, the woman came out of the front door of the building, slowly, holding a piece of paper.

她手绘了一张小地图。三条街道，两个拐角，一个喷泉。“别相信这里的手机，”她用小心的英语说，“手机在这个街区会迷路。”

She had drawn a small map by hand. Three streets, two corners, a fountain. "Don't trust the phone here," she said in careful English. "The phone gets confused in this neighborhood."

索菲娅感谢了她。那天下午她没有找到博物馆。她在余下的旅程中一直保留着那张纸质地图。

Sofía thanked her. She did not find the museum that afternoon. She kept the paper map for the rest of the trip.
