Megla se za njo zapre

Zadnje popoldne je Polly letela visoko nad obalo. Pod njo so bila čajna polja, jezeri v kraterju in tihi gozd. Otok je bil videti kot stari vulkani, ki se počasi zelenijo.

On her last afternoon, Polly flew high above the coast. Below her were the tea fields, the crater lakes, and the quiet forest. The island looked like old volcanoes, still slowly turning green.

Čolni so se vračali v pristanišče. Ob obali so se prižgale luči. Z obale je dišalo po dimu.

Boats went back to the harbor. Lights came on along the coast. Smoke smell drifted up from the shore.

Z morja je prišla megla. Prekrila je krater, nato čajna polja, nato pristanišče. Polly je to že videla.

Fog came in from the sea. It covered the crater, then the tea fields, then the harbor. Polly had seen this before.

Odletela je nad vodo. Za njo je otok še naprej kuhal večerjo pod zemljo in gojil čaj. Majhna siva ptica je bila varna v svojem gozdu.

She flew out over the water. Behind her, the island kept cooking dinner underground and growing tea. A small grey bird stayed safe in its forest.
