Hmla sa za ňou zatvára

Posledné popoludnie letela Polly vysoko nad pobrežím. Pod ňou boli čajové polia, jazerá v krátere a tichý les. Ostrov vyzeral ako staré sopky, ktoré sa pomaly menia na zelené.

On her last afternoon, Polly flew high above the coast. Below her were the tea fields, the crater lakes, and the quiet forest. The island looked like old volcanoes, still slowly turning green.

Člny sa vrátili do prístavu. Pozdĺž pobrežia sa rozsvietili svetlá. Od brehu stúpala vôňa dymu.

Boats went back to the harbor. Lights came on along the coast. Smoke smell drifted up from the shore.

Od mora prišla hmla. Zakryla kráter, potom čajové polia, potom prístav. Polly to už videla.

Fog came in from the sea. It covered the crater, then the tea fields, then the harbor. Polly had seen this before.

Vyletela nad vodu. Za ňou si ostrov ďalej varil večeru pod zemou a pestoval čaj. Malý sivý vták zostal v bezpečí vo svojom lese.

She flew out over the water. Behind her, the island kept cooking dinner underground and growing tea. A small grey bird stayed safe in its forest.
