El Gato que Toma el Autobús

Cada mañana, cuando el autobús se detiene cerca de la esquina, un pequeño gato sube. No espera a nadie. Sube los escalones por sí mismo, lento y tranquilo, como un pasajero que hace esto todos los días. El conductor sonríe y abre las puertas un poco más. El gato camina por el pasillo y encuentra su lugar.

Every morning, when the bus stops near the corner, a small cat steps up. He does not wait for anyone. He climbs the steps by himself, slow and calm, like a passenger who does this every day. The driver smiles and opens the doors a little wider. The cat walks down the middle and finds his spot.

Siempre se sienta en el mismo asiento junto a la ventana. Se sienta derecho y mira la calle. Los coches, las personas y las tiendas pasan rápido. El gato los observa con ojos tranquilos. Algunos pasajeros se ríen suavemente y toman fotos. Otros simplemente le dicen buenos días. Los habituales ya saben su nombre y dejan el asiento libre.

He always sits on the same window seat. He sits up straight and looks at the street. Cars, people, and shops go by fast. The cat watches them with quiet eyes. Some passengers laugh softly and take photos. Others just say good morning to him. The regulars know his name now, and they leave the seat free.

Cuando el autobús llega a su parada, el gato se levanta. Espera junto a las puertas, paciente y seguro. Las puertas se abren con un suave sonido. El gato baja a la acera y se aleja en la mañana. El conductor cierra las puertas y sigue su camino. Mañana, en la misma esquina, el pequeño pasajero estará esperando de nuevo.

When the bus reaches his stop, the cat stands up. He waits by the doors, patient and sure. The doors open with a soft sound. The cat steps down to the sidewalk and walks away into the morning. The driver closes the doors and drives on. Tomorrow, at the same corner, the little passenger will be waiting again.
