Addio, città rosa

È l'ultimo mattino di Polly. Vola alla vecchia torre. C'è anche Berta. Guardano il sole che sorge.

It is Polly's last morning. She flies to the old tower. Berta is there too. They watch the sun come up.

The light falls on the town. All the houses glow pink and gold. It is very beautiful. The river holds the town like an arm.

Berta regala a Polly un fico secco. È per il viaggio. Addio, piccola faina, dice Polly. Torna presto, dice Berta.

Berta gives Polly a dried fig. It is for the journey. Goodbye, little marten, says Polly. Come back soon, says Berta.

Polly vola lungo il fiume. La città diventa piccola dietro di lei. Tiene il fico per dopo. Un giorno tornerà.

Polly flies along the river. The town gets small behind her. She keeps the fig for later. One day she will come back.
