It is Polly's last morning. She flies to the old tower. Berta is there too. They watch the sun come up.
The light falls on the town. All the houses glow pink and gold. It is very beautiful. The river holds the town like an arm.
Berta gives Polly a dried fig. It is for the journey. Goodbye, little marten, says Polly. Come back soon, says Berta.
Polly flies along the river. The town gets small behind her. She keeps the fig for later. One day she will come back.
