Adiós, pueblo rosado

Es la última mañana de Polly. Vuela a la torre vieja. Berta también está allí. Miran salir el sol.

It is Polly's last morning. She flies to the old tower. Berta is there too. They watch the sun come up.

La luz cae sobre el pueblo. Todas las casas brillan en rosa y oro. Es muy bonito. El río abraza el pueblo como un brazo.

The light falls on the town. All the houses glow pink and gold. It is very beautiful. The river holds the town like an arm.

Berta le da a Polly un higo seco. Es para el viaje. Adiós, pequeña garduña, dice Polly. Vuelve pronto, dice Berta.

Berta gives Polly a dried fig. It is for the journey. Goodbye, little marten, says Polly. Come back soon, says Berta.

Polly vuela junto al río. El pueblo se hace pequeño detrás de ella. Guarda el higo para más tarde. Un día va a volver.

Polly flies along the river. The town gets small behind her. She keeps the fig for later. One day she will come back.
