The Last Train

Tomas checks his phone. It is after midnight. The gates are closing. He does not know: trains stop at night.

Tomas schaut auf sein Handy. Es ist nach Mitternacht. Die Tore schließen. Er weiß es nicht: Die Züge fahren nachts nicht.

A taxi costs too much. A man points down the street. Tomas finds a small hotel. He pays at a machine. He sleeps in a tiny room.

Ein Taxi kostet zu viel. Ein Mann zeigt die Straße hinunter. Tomas findet ein kleines Hotel. Er zahlt an einem Automaten. Er schläft in einem winzigen Zimmer.

In the morning, Tomas buys coffee. He takes the first train home. He is tired but happy. Now he always checks: when is the last train?

Am Morgen kauft Tomas einen Kaffee. Er nimmt den ersten Zug nach Hause. Er ist müde, aber glücklich. Jetzt prüft er immer: Wann fährt der letzte Zug?
