El gobio nace en el río, en lo alto de las montañas. Después de salir del huevo, el agua lleva al pez bebé río abajo hasta el mar. Cuando crece, debe regresar al agua tranquila de la montaña. Solo hay un camino: hacia arriba. El gobio se agarra a la roca mojada con su boca, que funciona como una pequeña ventosa. También tiene otra ventosa en la barriga. Boca, barriga, boca, barriga. Centímetro a centímetro, sube por la roca detrás del agua que cae.
Algunas de estas cascadas son más altas que un edificio de veinte pisos. Para un pez tan pequeño, es como si una persona escalara una montaña de muchos kilómetros de altura. El gobio no tiene prisa. Simplemente nunca se detiene.
