Nikto nikdy ten syr nechytil. Pošli toto svojmu najsúťaživejšiemu kamarátovi. Raz do roka, na veľmi strmom trávnatom kopci v Anglicku, niekto zhodí dolu svahom veľké koleso syra a dav ľudí za ním beží.

Kopec je taký strmý, že väčšina bežcov sa nedokáže udržať na nohách. Väčšinu cesty sa kotúľajú, prevaľujú a šmýkajú, zatiaľ čo syr naberá takú rýchlosť, že predbehne úplne každého z nich. Vyhráva ten, kto prebehne cieľom dole ako prvý, lebo skutočne chytiť ten syr sa v podstate nikdy nedalo.

The hill is so steep that most runners cannot stay on their feet. They roll, tumble, and slide most of the way down, while the cheese picks up speed fast enough to outrun every single one of them. Whoever crosses the bottom first wins, since actually catching the cheese has never really been possible.

Nikto presne nevie, ako táto tradícia vznikla, iba to, že ľudia v okolí o nej píšu už približne dve storočia a pravdepodobne ju praktizujú ešte dlhšie. Každý rok sem aj tak prichádzajú noví bežci z iných krajín, aby to skúsili, a každý rok kopec vyhráva rovnako často ako ľudia.

Nobody knows exactly how the tradition began, only that people in the area have written about it for roughly two centuries and probably practiced it for longer. Every year, new runners from other countries arrive to try anyway, and every year, the hill wins as often as the humans do.
