The Pink Town

Polly flies over a river in Spain. The river makes a big loop, like an arm. Inside the loop there is a small town. All the houses are pink.

Polly vuela sobre un río en España. El río hace una gran curva, como un brazo. Dentro de la curva hay un pueblo pequeño. Todas las casas son rosadas.

The town is called Albarracín. About a thousand people live here. The streets are very narrow. A long stone wall climbs up the mountain behind the houses.

El pueblo se llama Albarracín. Aquí viven unas mil personas. Las calles son muy estrechas. Una larga muralla de piedra sube por la montaña detrás de las casas.

Polly lands in a tiny square. There is a small fountain. She smells fresh bread from a door. Far away she hears a sheep bell.

Polly aterriza en una plaza muy pequeña. Hay una fuente pequeña. Huele pan fresco detrás de una puerta. A lo lejos oye un cencerro de oveja.

The sun goes down. The lamps come on. The pink walls look warm and soft. Polly sits by the fountain. The little town goes to sleep.

El sol se pone. Las farolas se encienden. Los muros rosados parecen cálidos y suaves. Polly se sienta junto a la fuente. El pequeño pueblo se duerme.
