Joki kiertää kaupungin, kuin rengas. Tänään Polly käy joella. Hän haluaa hitaan päivän.

A river goes around the town, like a ring. Today Polly visits the river. She wants a slow day.

Veden luona on viileää. Vesi on puhdasta ja kylmää. Puut riippuvat joen yllä. Siniset sudenkorennot lentävät veden yllä. Polly kävelee pientä polkua.

By the water it is cool. The water is clean and cold. Trees hang over the river. Blue dragonflies fly over the water. Polly walks on the small path.

Hän katselee pieniä hyönteisiä veden pinnalla. Hän kuuntelee jokea. Korkealla vaaleanpunaiset talot katsovat alas.

She watches little insects on the water. She listens to the river. High above, the pink houses look down.

Illalla kettu tulee juomaan. Polly ja kettu katsovat toisiaan. Sitten kettu menee pois. Polly lentää kotiin iloisena.

In the evening a fox comes to drink. Polly and the fox look at each other. Then the fox goes away. Polly flies home happy.
