Un team giapponese lo dimostrò nel duemilanove. Misero volontari, a torso nudo, in una stanza a tenuta di luce e puntarono su di loro una telecamera estremamente sensibile per venti minuti alla volta. La telecamera rilevò un bagliore costante e irregolare che usciva dalla pelle, più luminoso intorno al viso.
