The Old Wall

Today Polly visits the wall. It climbs up the mountain like big stairs. It has many towers. Berta stays at home.

Aujourd'hui, Polly visite la muraille. Elle monte sur la montagne comme un grand escalier. Elle a beaucoup de tours. Berta reste à la maison.

The wall is more than a thousand years old. A family called the Banu Razin built it. The town has their name.

Polly flies to the tower at the top. She meets a big owl there. He sleeps in the day. He works at night.

Polly vole jusqu'à la tour, tout en haut. Elle y rencontre un grand hibou. Il dort le jour. Il travaille la nuit.

From the tower the town looks tiny. The pink roofs sit inside the river loop. Polly watches for a long time. Then she says thank you to the wall.

Depuis la tour, la ville semble minuscule. Les toits roses sont dans la boucle de la rivière. Polly regarde pendant longtemps. Puis elle dit merci à la muraille.
