The Old Wall

Today Polly visits the wall. It climbs up the mountain like big stairs. It has many towers. Berta stays at home.

Heute besucht Polly die Mauer. Sie klettert den Berg hinauf wie eine große Treppe. Sie hat viele Türme. Berta bleibt zu Hause.

The wall is more than a thousand years old. A family called the Banu Razin built it. The town has their name.

Die Mauer ist mehr als tausend Jahre alt. Eine Familie namens Banu Razin hat sie gebaut. Die Stadt trägt ihren Namen.

Polly flies to the tower at the top. She meets a big owl there. He sleeps in the day. He works at night.

Polly fliegt zum Turm ganz oben. Dort trifft sie einen großen Uhu. Er schläft am Tag. Er arbeitet in der Nacht.

From the tower the town looks tiny. The pink roofs sit inside the river loop. Polly watches for a long time. Then she says thank you to the wall.

Vom Turm aus sieht die Stadt winzig aus. Die rosa Dächer liegen in der Flussschleife. Polly schaut lange zu. Dann sagt sie der Mauer Danke.
