कई दशकों तक वैज्ञानिकों का मानना था कि प्राचीन मानव घने वर्षावनों से दूर रहते थे। वहाँ बहुत अंधेरा था, बहुत खतरा था, और जीवित रहना बहुत मुश्किल था।

For decades, scientists believed ancient humans avoided dense rainforests. Too dark, too dangerous, too hard to survive.

लेकिन पश्चिम अफ़्रीका में हुई एक खोज इस इतिहास को फिर से लिख रही है। शोधकर्ताओं को ऐसे प्रमाण मिले हैं जो बताते हैं कि शुरुआती मनुष्य न सिर्फ़ वर्षावनों में गए, बल्कि वहाँ अच्छी तरह से रहे भी।

But a discovery in West Africa is rewriting that history. Researchers found evidence that early humans not only entered rainforests, but thrived there.

वहाँ उन्हें औज़ार, भोजन के अवशेष और स्थायी शिविरों के निशान मिले। इससे मानव विकास के बारे में हमारी पूरी समझ बदल जाती है। हमने सिर्फ़ घास के मैदानों पर ही कब्ज़ा नहीं किया, हमने घने जंगल में भी खुद को ढाल लिया था।

They found tools, food remains, and signs of permanent camps. This changes everything we thought about human evolution. We didn't just conquer the savanna. We also adapted to the jungle.
