O rio nasce lá no alto das montanhas e corre até o mar. No caminho, ele passa por nove países. Ao redor do rio, há uma enorme floresta verde, cheia de árvores, pássaros, peixes e muitos outros animais.
O Amazonas é muito importante para o nosso planeta. A grande floresta dá ar limpo para o mundo e é o lar de milhões de plantas e animais. Muitas pessoas também vivem perto do rio. Elas usam a água dele todos os dias para beber, para cozinhar e para viajar de barco.
