Los Molinos Viejos

En lo alto de la cima plana de las colinas, sobre el pueblo, Polly encontró una larga fila de torres redondas de piedra recortadas contra el cielo.

High on the flat top of the hills above the town, Polly found a long row of round stone towers standing against the sky.

Eran molinos de viento antiguos. Hoy ya no tienen tejado ni aspas. Son solo torres abiertas con pequeñas ventanas oscuras, calladas bajo el viento.

They were old windmills. Today they have no roofs and no sails any more. They are just open towers with small dark windows, quiet in the wind.

Hace mucho tiempo, el viento fuerte de aquí arriba hacía girar sus grandes aspas día tras día, y los molinos molían el trigo para hacer harina para todo el pueblo de abajo.

Long ago, the strong wind up here turned their great sails day after day, and the mills ground wheat into flour for the whole town below.

Polly miró las paredes de cerca. Era la misma piedra dorada que había visto en la cueva junto al mar. Inclinó la cabeza y empezó a hacerse preguntas.

Polly looked closely at the walls. It was the same golden stone she had seen in the cave by the sea. She tilted her head and began to wonder.
