Erstes Licht

An ihrem letzten Morgen flog Polly bis ganz ans Ende der Landzunge, zu der Stelle, die auf den Karten Cap de Sant Antoni heißt.

On her last morning, Polly flew out to the very end of the cape, the point the maps call Cap de Sant Antoni.

Ein kleiner weißer Leuchtturm stand hoch oben am Rand der Klippe. Seit vielen, vielen Jahren wachte er über die Schiffe und das Meer darunter.

A small white lighthouse stood high on the edge of the cliff. For many, many years it has watched over the ships and the sea below.

Langsam stieg die Sonne aus dem Wasser. Das Meer rund um die Landzunge ist ruhig und klar, und es steht unter Schutz, sodass die Fische und Pflanzen unter der Wasseroberfläche in Frieden leben können. Das erste Licht verwandelte die Klippen noch einmal in Gold.

The sun rose slowly out of the water. The sea around the cape is calm and clear, and it is protected, so the fish and the plants below the surface live in peace. The first light turned the cliffs gold one more time.

Polly blickte zurück und verabschiedete sich vom Elefantenberg. Dann stieg sie mit dem warmen Morgenwind auf und flog hinaus über das helle, offene Meer.

Polly looked back and said goodbye to the elephant mountain. Then she rose on the warm morning wind and flew out over the bright, open sea.
