Three Heartbeats

In the morning Polly saw a cheetah. It sat very still on a small hill of earth. It was watching a gazelle. Polly sat on a branch and watched too.

Then the cheetah ran. It is the fastest animal on land. In three seconds it runs as fast as a car. Polly flew after it. She lost it very fast.

Puis le guépard a couru. C'est l'animal le plus rapide sur terre. En trois secondes, il court aussi vite qu'une voiture. Polly a volé derrière lui. Elle l'a perdu très vite.

The gazelle jumped away and escaped. This is normal. Most hunts fail. The cheetah was very tired. It rested in the shade.

La gazelle a sauté plus loin et s'est échappée. C'est normal. La plupart des chasses échouent. Le guépard était très fatigué. Il s'est reposé à l'ombre.

Here is a funny fact. Cheetahs cannot roar. They chirp like birds. The cheetah chirped at Polly. Polly chirped back.

Voici une chose amusante. Les guépards ne peuvent pas rugir. Ils piaillent comme des oiseaux. Le guépard a piaillé vers Polly. Polly a piaillé en réponse.
